The bacteriological analysis determines if the water is potable. The water’s condition may appear very poor in terms of color, odor and/or visible deposits, but it may still be potable. When purchasing a house with a well, the bank will ask your notary to include a water potability certificate in your file. Afterwards, an annual analysis will ensure that the water remains potable. Find out how to take a bacteriological sample.
The physico-chemical analysis determines if water needs to be treated for certain minerals that are detrimental to its proper domestic use. Many buyers of homes with wells undertake a physico-chemical analysis in order to better negotiate the initial offer. If you want to do a physico-chemical analysis only, skip step 1 of the 4 steps below and learn more about the steps to follow to complete the physico-chemical sampling.
Please fill in the information on your analysis request.
Choose the type(s) of analysis you require. For each, mention the details of the location in which the water is being sampled at the same address.
Examples of sampling locations:
- Kitchen tap treated water
- Kitchen tap untreated water
- Outdoor hose treated water

- Kitchen tap with softener out of order
If you order more than one bacteriological and/or physico-chemical analysis, please clearly identify them by writing #1, #2 or #3 on the bottles to reflect the location of the sample.
